Clarence Veigel established Service Spring Corporation in Toledo, OH.
1973
Veigel becomes chairman of the board at Service Spring; Pat McAlear, his son-in-law, becomes President. Marilyn McAlear, Veigel’s daughter, becomes CFO.
1977
Service Spring moves to a new building in Millbury, OH. Plant extensions are added in 1985 and 1991.
1982
Service Spring offers the industry’s first spring warranty.
1987
Service Spring Corporation purchases Clean Rite Corp, now known as Draincables Direct.
1991
Service Spring launches the Guaranteed Shipping Program.
1994
Mike McAlear becomes President of Service Spring Corporation.
1997
Solutions Spring Engineering Software is introduced.
2001
Coated Torsion Springs are introduced.
2005
Mike McAlear becomes CEO.
2009
Service Spring West, an additional manufacturing location, opens in Visalia, CA.
2010
Service Spring launches Solutions Mobile.

Service Spring suffers damage as a result of an EF4 tornado. Within two days, SSC resumes production and continues their commitment to unequaled service.
2011
Powder coated springs and square wire springs are introduced.

Service Spring launches Solutions Mobile for Android.
2012
Service Spring relocates the Ohio manufacturing facility and corporate offices to Maumee.

Service Spring hosts first live webinar.

Service Spring receives IDA Industry Member Award.

Service Spring celebrates their 50th Anniversary.
2013
Service Spring launches Solutions Education, a program dedicated to educating the overhead door industry.
2015
The McAlear Group launches the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Service Spring unveils Solutions Connect for Apple and Android platforms.

Draincables Direct opens a location in Long Island, NY.
2016
Mike McAlear is awarded the IDA Humanitarian of the Year award.

Draincables Direct opens a location in Dallas, TX and creates several truck routes across the US with branded cargo vans.

SSC and DCD open a joint distribution center in Orlando, FL.
2017
Matt McAlear becomes CEO of The McAlear Group.

The McAlear Group provides hurricane relief to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, TX.
2018
Service Spring opens additional service centers in Chicago, IL and Detroit, MI.
